A Platform for driver support / intelligent vehicles

Key ideas and objectives

The main objective of the project is to produce recommendations for transport policy decision makers (ministries, the European Commission) concerning driver support systems:

  • actions that ministries and the Commission should start immediately and
  • future research at European, international, regional and national levels.


Secondary objective of the project is to create a procedure that could be used to other actual/interesting themes from transport policy point of view.

  • Benchmarking study on activities in promoting and deploying Intelligent Vehicle Safety Systems in the EU
  • Recommendations for transport policy decision makers (ministries, the EC)
  • Definition of research topics

The activities seem to be a duplicate of activities in SMART (FP6 programme). In order to avoid doublication and overlaps ENT 11 has been set on hold until SMART results will be deliverd.
