Austria (BMVIT) and Germany (BMWi) have completed a trans-national call on Intelligent logistics. A lean cooperation procedure was used for implementing this first coordinated call in ERA-NET TRANSPORT.

During the work process in the action group ENT 2a it became obvious that good opportunities for immediate co-operation on the topic of logistics existed between Germany and Austria. Similar research programme priorities and a window of opportunity regarding the funding allowed the preparation of a coordinated call.

Key ideas and objectives

This trans-national cooperation is focusing on the provision of new cooperative projects focusing on organisational solutions and operational concepts of goods transport for innovative logistics.

The process and outcome of the joint call for proposals

The cooperative project consortia hand in the same R&D project to their respective national authorities, according to the regular national rules and guidelines of the call. German participants can receive funds from the German call budget and Austrian participants can receive funds from the Austrian call budget.

Furthermore the funding opportunity for “clustering of projects” primary aims at establishing information links between newly emerging projects as well as already running projects. It aims at a further internationalization of transport research and should broaden the basis of knowledge and excellence. The content and extent of the cooperation will be decided by the relevant project partners and has to be approved by the national providers of the project funds.

The interested ENT countries will examine the opportunities for an information exchange and/or clustering between running and new projects.
