ERA-NET Plus Electromobility+
Creating a sustainable framework for Electromobility in Europe
|
Background
Increasing awareness on climate change, the scale of the challenges involved, and the pressing need to prepare for a post-petrol future have prompted most of the world’s developed countries to step up the research, trialling and deployment of transport systems that use more energy-efficient and less petrol fuel-dependent vehicles. In response to the second objective on petrol dependency, electric power offers a potentially groundbreaking solution, provided that the production supply chain does not emit too much CO2.
Objective
Electromobility+ is a contribution of 13 European countries and regions to the European Green Cars Initiative. The initiative aims at the creation of long-lasting conditions for the development of electric mobility in Europe on the horizon of 2025.
Within Electromobility+ the involved national and regional authorities bring together 20 M€ of public funding. In the framework of the proposed ERA-NET Plus the European Commission may contribute to the funding of trans-national projects with a maximum of up to 10 M€.
Key Dimensions
The transnational call Electromobility+ is structured in five thematic key dimensions.
1. Energy and environmental policy approach
2. Usage patterns, economic models, actors involved
3. Technical dimensions of the recharging systems
4. Testing, trials and normative standards
5. Technology based Innovation
Countries and regions involved
The trans-national call Electromobility+ is addressed to transnational research consortia of the involved countries/regions: France, Germany, The Netherlands, Austria, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Turkey, Flanders (Belgium), Piedmont (Italy), Andalusia (Spain).
