The tasks
Analysis of recommendations from past workshops
The European Platform for Transport Research (EPTR) has organised during 2002/2003 workshops among programme managers and policy makers in order to identify research topics which may benefit from cooperation. A brief analysis of these has led to a first priority topic "ITS and Reliability in Passenger Transport". Subsequent priority topics for cooperation will come from recommendations of WP1 and WP2.
Targeted workshops
Four annual targeted workshops will be organised on four pre-defined priority topics. The first one took place in Paris on November 29-30 2004 on the theme of "ITS and Reliability in Passenger Transport". The workshops offer an opportunity for the ERA-NET TRANSPORT partners to engage actively in cooperation activities and to choose the best suited tools for their implementation. The workshops agree on cooperation action plans, concerning project clusters, joint projects, joint calls and joint programming.
Support for cooperation and coordination activities
The actual implementation of cooperation and coordination activities is carried out by groups of partners. On each of the four topics examined in the targeted workshops, WP3 provides support for the implementation of cooperation activities.
